Ask your doctor today to schedule your FREE hearing test if you or someone you know is experiencing signs of hearing loss, has a high probability of developing a hearing condition, or has already been diagnosed with a hearing loss.
One of the most common hearing loss treatments is the fitting of hearing aids. Hearing aids are a type of amplification device that makes sounds easier to hear. However, all hearing loss is unique, and a Hearing Service Provider can help you choose and adjust the technology that is right for you. Hearing aid technologies available include:
1. Who should have their hearing tested?
Every patient should be considered for a baseline audiogram.
If you are over 50 years old, you should have a hearing test every three years, and once you are over 65 years old, it should be scheduled annually.
If you are currently experiencing hearing loss symptoms such as difficulty understanding words, having to increase the volume of the television or radio, or if you are frequently asking others to speak slower, more clearly and louder, we recommend you schedule a hearing test.
Last, if you currently wear a hearing aid, you should have a hearing test performed regularly to ensure the proper performance of your device.
2. Is there a charge for the hearing test or for the consultation?
No, the hearing test and consultation are complimentary.
3. How long will the hearing test take?
The test should not take longer than 30 minutes.
4. What is the cost of hearing aids?
PHN offers hearing aids starting at multiple price points depending on the level of technology. There is a wide range of technologies available to fit the patient’s individual needs and budget.
Some of the hearing aid technologies available include:
Insurance: During the consultation, PHN will verify if the patient's insurance plan provides hearing aid benefits.
5. Is it possible to receive insurance benefits?
During the consultation, PHN will verify if your insurance plan provides coverage.
6. How soon will the new hearing aids be ready?
For the most part, patients are fit with a hearing aid within a week.
